Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Guidelines for Authors

Submission of Original Manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted for evaluation must be unpublished and not under review by any other journal or editorial body.

Authors must register with their institutional or corporate email (University, Research Center, Company, etc.) and preferably include their ORCID identifier.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal platform. If technical difficulties arise, authors may send their work to: revistagecontec@gmail.com.


Manuscript Format

  • Length: maximum 80,000 characters or 18 pages, including figures, tables, and references.

  • Margins: 2.5 cm (top and bottom), 3 cm (left and right).

  • Title: Garamond 14, bold, centered.

  • Author(s): Garamond 12, centered.

  • Affiliation: Garamond 12, centered.

  • Abstract: ≤ 250 words, Garamond 12.

  • Keywords: Garamond 12.

  • Headings: Garamond 12, bold, unnumbered.

  • Main text: Garamond 12, justified, single spacing.

  • Tables, figures, diagrams: numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals, with title (top) and source (bottom), Garamond 10.

  • References: APA style, in alphabetical order.


In-text Citations

  • Author in text: Last name (year).

  • Author not in text: (Last name year).

  • Literal quote: “…” (Last name year: page).

  • Two authors: (Last name and Last name year).

  • More than two authors: (Last name et al., year).

  • Same author, same year: (Last name year + letter).

  • Series of references: (Last name year; Last name and Last name year).

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Reviewers are selected from external and internal experts. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

  • First editorial decision: within 2 weeks of submission.

  • Estimated time from receipt to publication: 2 months.

  • Possible outcomes: accepted, pending with observations (revision required), or rejected.


Costs and Support

GECONTEC does not charge submission, review, or editorial processing fees. Once a manuscript is accepted, authors are required to cover translation and editing costs.

Authors from developing countries may request partial or full fee waivers. Institutional sponsorships are also welcome.


Open Access and Copyright

  • GECONTEC is published under Creative Commons CC-BY license.

  • Full-text is available immediately, free of charge, with no embargo.

  • Authors retain copyright.

  • Self-archiving in repositories and personal websites is permitted and encouraged.

  • Articles are preserved and assigned DOI via Zenodo.


Generative AI Use

Manuscripts must be the original work of the authors. Generative AI cannot be considered as co-author. Authors must disclose any use of AI tools limited to editing, language polishing, or reference management.


Privacy Statement

Names and email addresses registered in this journal will be used exclusively for the stated purposes and will not be made available to third parties.
